[ Environmental Psychology #ENVPSYCHO ] Assignment 3 - Application & Adaptation

In Assignment 3, I did a spatial programme in relation with my IDP 1 final project. The retail shop I'm designing is a bag retail shop and the name of my shop is Mys-tery. The colour scheme of my shop is mainly purple, which indicate mysterious. The programming of my retail shop is divided into 4 sections which are entrance, consultation area, merchandise area and workshop. The intention of my retail shop is to sell my bags, customize bags for customers and repair customers' broken bag and can be reuse again. The title of my Penang Trip Brochure is Beauty And The Beach. This brochure is to do about wayfinding during our Penang study trip. In my brochure, I talked about my experience at the beach of the hotel we stayed--Hotel Sentral Seaview Penang. I did enjoyed myself with the beautiful scenery of the seaside and had a lot of fun in learning with my classmates during the entire trip.

[ Environmental Psychology #ENVPSYCHO ] Assignment 2 - Forensic Studies Exploration to Way Finding

In Assignment 2, we were to do a forensic studies exploration at a place in KL. The place we chose is Perdana Botanical Lake Garden Kuala Lumpur. As the area of lake garden is big, we were advised to choose 3 main area to do our exploration. The 3 main places are the yellow canopy, amphitheatre and the children playground. We visited that place twice to observe and explore how people behave and their activities during different time. We went there in the morning for the first day and in the evening for the second day. That place is a great place for people to release stress and spend their recreation time as the scenery was so amazing and the air is fresh as well. Many parents brought their children during the morning and the evening to do exercises and have picnic there. Throughout this assignment, I've learnt to be more observant to the environment around me.

[ Environmental Psychology #ENVPSYCHO ] Assignment 1 - Reading Space

In the first assignment, I've visited 3 different public places to observe how human behave and the traffic flow at those places. I also took some photos at the 3 places to support my information. The 3 places I chose are Sunway Pyramid Hotel West Lobby, Coffee Cottage Cafe at SS15 and Ampang Superbowl Puchong at IOI Mall Puchong. 

The things that i found interested in Sunway Pyramid Hotel West Lobby is that it is a 5-stars hotel and the environment is comfortable and clean. Many tourists stay at that hotel for their holidays and working. I've observed that the circulation of the tourists and their behavior at the lobby. Furthermore, I also observed the materials of the entire space they used.

The second place that I visited is Coffee Cottage Cafe located at SS15. The special of this cafe is that they have cats in their cafe and they are cute and adorable. The first impression of this cafe is that their service is good and the staffs are friendly as well. I ordered a cup of Cappuccino and sat at a corner to do my observation. That cafe was quiet and less customers when I visit because that day was a weekday. But after 4pm, their customers getting crowded as they came for tea time after finished their work and study. I also went in the cats cottage and the cats are cute and lovely!

The third place I visited is Ampang Superbowl Puchong located at IOI Mall Puchong. That time was a night and that place was so crowded when I went in. It is a good place for people to relax and bonding with their family members. But one thing that I don't like about that place is that the echo of the bowling sound is heavy and make people impatient. Most of the players are Malay and I guess bowling is one of their favourite leisure activities.
